I cannot believe it has been 2 years since Gobi March 2006. Time has flown, life went on, Louise, Don, Stephane and my lives parted in there own good ways. The odd drink we would come together to laugh about silly things. As told, we would be bitten by the desert bug to return for another race but we instantaneously fired a defensive reply, ‘No, way!’. We were wrong the bug did bite us and we are back for a different desert, ‘The Atacama Crossing 2008’. Sadly, this time only Stephane and I will be facing up to the challenge, as Louise will be getting married (Congrats) and Don worked up at work with no time for training.
Having learnt so much in Gobi March 2006, from bodily changes to too much food to dressing uncool looking like I was a war zone journalist. This time I will be much more prepared with more knowledge to feed off from my experience and learning from the elite. You can read our blog which I will provide some experiences and what I learnt from past races. Click here to read our blog!
We both are very honoured to return and carry on our support for Sunbeam, in July 2007, the 4 of us went to visit Sunbeam Village and participated in an awards ceremony. It was a memorable experience, Sunbeam had great facilities, amazing staff support and most of all healthy children all over the place! It’s great to know every penny raised was put into good use and that our efforts were well worth the cause.
Everyone please show us your love again and donate to Sunbeam, don’t hide because I will carry on bugging you!

So here we are again Joc and I, heading for another desert run. I’ve been unable to train for the past two months, due to an ankle injury, but with the support of my physiotherapist, I should be back in good shape to at least complete the race in one piece.
More importantly, I’ll have the pleasure to once again help out the children of Sunbeam. When we visited the village, I was really moved by all these kids running around in such a remote village high up in the mountains. They’re so ordered and disciplined and so nice! It was a unique experience to play around and have lunch with them and to know that are in such good hands! What pleased me the most though, was to see how grateful they were, to all of you who donated. So, one more time, please reach out and donate to the Children of Sunbeam. Feel free to encourage us on our blog (insert blog link) as well, we’ll need that!!!
