Standard Chartered Marathon (Hong Kong) 2008

February 19th, 2008 · No Comments

Many people have asked me whether I’ve done a marathon before and it would be a no because I have different definitions for ultramarathon and a marathon, both are demanding in there own right. But now I can proudly say that I have and finished it in 4hrs and 50mins. I am rather pleased considering my knee problems and having gone to the hospital a night before due to an asthma attack! Shocking, many concerned friends and family called me to pull out of the race, but the rebble in me took on the challenge.

I really enjoyed the run, it was a relatively smooth run, no hitting the wall or needing to find the toilet half way through the run type problems. I only felt my knee after running 10km which was relatively minor to what I expected (as the physio had warned me), but my legs only really started hurting during the last 2km, can’t give up just for 2km! =)
