Most fascinating trail run

February 29th, 2008 · No Comments

Last Tuesday, my friend Jaime asked me if I wanted to run the Twin Peaks after work, from 8:30pm to 11:30pm. I had never run off-road at night, and the idea of running up and down 1,000 steps in the dark didn’t feel right at first. But then I thought that it would be the best opportunity to go out and test my headlamp!

Wow, it was the best trailrun ever. The landscape was beautiful. From the peak, the views on the reservoirs, the sea and the city were just stunning. The covered trails felt unreal: running under those trees with just enough light to see where you were stepping was like being Ichabod Crane in Sleepy Hollow. The leaves and branches were in shades of grey, creepy enough to make you want to run a lot faster. On top of that, it was almost full moon… Brrr…

I’ll do it again, for sure!
